![]() The thing is SketchUp has hardly changed over the years god knows what we are paying for. Because I didn’t get a 30 day trial on this for some reason and wants me to enter a valid key to continue which I don’t have. However, the initial purchase was taking too long so we set up the designer with a trial. I designed a product on the sketchup pro trial and I decided that it would be a decent product for actual selling. We purchased a subscription to sketchup and we can log into the web account and view it. which you can't do with the SketchUp web-based.īut man a year doesn't last very long before I knew it my subscription had ended and I felt like I hardly used SketchUp Pro what a waste of money. Hello I am wondering if I would have to purchase a pro license in this situation. especially because I used to have two sketches ups open at the same time and I copied and pasted between the two to export components. I decided to go PRO and download the desktop version and it was so much better reminds me of the olden days. No path to get the program running and keep working with the reduced feature set. However, when I run SU, I’m given the opportunity to Buy/Add a license only. In the Add License window, you should find a button (If I remember correctly it’s labeled Advanced.) click on the button and paste the copied license info into it. Every thing I’ve read says that you can keep running SU 2016 Pro after the trial has expired and that the pro features will be greyed out. Copy the license information from the e-mail. So SketchUp is intentionally restricting speeds.? or web-based is just no good I called the software company and they told me it’s because of the username. I get a message from Sketchup saying looks like you need to upgrade due to the model slowing everything down. SketchUp is a premier 3D design software that truly makes 3D modeling for everyone, with a simple to learn yet robust toolset that empowers you to create whatever you can imagine. I have 300mb internet speeds up to 900mb with a ping of 10ms. but it becomes laggy when you add models into your model. If you have purchased a subscription, you will just need your Trimble ID to sign in to the software and authenticate, no license serial number, no authorization code. I don't even need pro most of the time but I pay for Sketchup Go. ![]() Then they went to subscription which was a cheaper option but we all knew the intention was to price increase. Back when you could buy the software and it was yours to use as much or as little as you wanted which was fine and affordable. I have used Sketchup for 17+ yrs for personal use and odd jobs. Hardly stealing from a company who are ripping people off. ![]()
